Webflow Conf

Summary
Webflow Conf is the annual flagship event for the Webflow community — a multi‑day conference that brings together designers, developers, marketers, and digital leaders to explore the future of web design, development, and the no‑code ecosystem. Over several years, I’ve designed and developed sites for Webflow Conf that communicate the purpose of the event, highlight speakers and sessions, and support global registration for both in‑person and online attendance. Each site is built to reflect the evolving identity of the event while delivering a clear, accessible experience for thousands of attendees around the world.

Challenge

Each year, Webflow Conf demands more than just a static promotional page — the site functions as a real-time event hub for a fast-moving program. The audience spans from long-time Webflow experts to first-time visitors curious about design, development, and the no-code space. Content is constantly shifting leading up to the event, which means the site has to evolve alongside it — from daily updates to speaker bios, session tracks, sponsor listings, and registration logistics. Internally, teams needed a single source of truth to keep everything aligned across stakeholders. That included gathering and syncing live speaker data, capturing sponsor details as they rolled in, and — for the 2025 event — introducing a public voting experience for the Webflow Awards that needed to feel simple on the front end while being trackable behind the scenes.

Solution

To keep pace with live updates and internal collaboration, I built the site architecture around Airtable as the single source of truth — using Whalesync to push structured content directly into the Webflow CMS in real time. This let me integrate speaker details, sponsor updates, and schedule changes without creating content bottlenecks or requiring constant manual updates. I also used Airtable automations to streamline how speaker and sponsor data was collected and reflected live on the site. For the Webflow Awards voting experience, I designed a flow that felt effortless for users while giving the internal team clean, real-time visibility into results. Each year, I focused on answering the same core user questions early — What is this event? Why should I attend? How do I participate? — and let the design flex to support evolving goals, formats, and audiences. The result is a site that feels alive, clear, and tightly integrated with the needs of both the event team and the community.

Webflow Conf 2025

The 2025 site introduced a bold, expressive design system that supported light and dark themes— blending strong typography, vibrant colors, and modular layouts. Interactive agenda filters, a persistent sidebar nav, and animated details brought structure and motion to the experience. Design elements like grid-based content tiles and custom iconography reflected the energy of the event while keeping the UI clear and scalable across devices. The overall system supported both discoverability and real-time updates across pages.

Webflow Awards 2025

For the first time, we opened up Webflow Awards category voting to the public — giving the community a direct role in choosing this year’s winners. I designed and implemented a voting experience that was simple on the front end and easy to manage behind the scenes in Airtable, making the process seamless for both voters and internal teams.

Syncing event data in real-time

For Webflow Conf 2025, I set up a real-time data flow using Airtable as the single source of truth. Speaker, session, and many other data points were managed in Airtable and synced to the Webflow CMS using Whalesync — ensuring the site always reflected the latest updates without manual intervention. This system enabled faster collaboration across teams and reduced the risk of outdated or inconsistent content.

Dynamic social kit for real-time speaker badges

I designed and built a shareable badge generator for Webflow Conf speakers and attendees — allowing them to generate custom social assets by filling out a simple form. Using html2canvas and real-time onChange updates, the tool instantly rendered downloadable graphics in multiple sizes for use across social platforms. This not only promoted individual speakers and sessions, but also amplified reach and anticipation for the event itself through community-driven content.

Webflow Conf 2024

The 2024 Webflow Conf site brought the event to San Francisco, London, and online, with a design that balances community celebration and practical learning. Speaker and session information is presented in a way that highlights both product announcements and best practices for designers, developers, and marketers. Dynamic agenda sections drove interest in sessions like agency workflows and AI‑driven design, and the Webflow Awards page recognized standout work from the community. By integrating global event information and session details into a unified experience, the site supported both in‑person check‑ins and virtual viewers.

Marketing site and livestream experience

I developed the marketing site for Webflow Conf 2024 and managed the flow of speaker and session data from internal sources to the live site. Using Airtable and Webflow CMS, I ensured content stayed accurate and up to date across pages. I also built the livestream event page — a fully responsive experience that hosted live video across four separate stages for global audiences.

Webflow Conf 2023

The 2023 Webflow Conf site emphasized a multi‑city tour across San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and London, extending the event footprint beyond a single venue. Design elements and navigation reflected this global reach, with session and workshop information tailored for each location while still unified under one conference umbrella. Speaker and session data was organized to communicate both content variety and geographic context, supporting attendees who joined in person or online. The agenda presentation made it easy to see product announcements, interactive workshops, and community showcases, reinforcing the event’s role as a gathering of visual developers and creators.

Dynamic speaker cards

For Webflow Conf 2023, I used Airtable and Whalesync to keep session and speaker data synced in real time with the Webflow CMS. The site featured a bold, vibrant visual style with interactive hover states and custom geometric cutouts on speaker images — giving each card a distinct, expressive shape while maintaining a cohesive layout.

Location-specific agendas

I designed and developed the location pages and agenda system for Webflow Conf 2023, supporting both in-person and online experiences across multiple cities. Each agenda pulled from synced Airtable data via Whalesync, allowing real-time updates to session times, speakers, and stage assignments. The layout was built for clarity and scalability — with filters for timezone and location — making it easy for attendees to see what was happening, where, and when.
